Amalfi Racing Legends, Inc. is located in New Hampshire & Florida. Mike & Cheri Amalfitano own the operation in both locations. Klaus Fischer is the Managing Director of the Florida operation. Mike has loved automobiles and racing for years. One day he purchased a lengendary car and it was then he decided to get into to the business of restoring and racing these beauties.

(Following is an excerpt from Amalfi Racing Legends, Inc. website www.amalfiracing.com)...Klaus was first introduced to motor racing in 1983 at the age of 18 when he worked part-time for Jochen Dauer on his Zakspeed Ford C 100. During the next three years he worked closely with the Zakspeed Team in Niederzissen, Germany where the Ford C 100 was based for race preparations.

Upon completing his degree in commercial/residential electrical installation, Klaus decided to stay in the racing industry. In the Spring of 1987, Klaus and Jochen Dauer founded the Dauer Racing Team. Their team enjoyed success with the well-known Porsche race car Type 956/962. Over the next five years, the Dauer Racing Team, with Klaus as Technical Director, participated in the World Sportscar Championship, European Interserie, German Supercup and the American IMSA Series.

The drivers in his team have always been top calibre: Hans Joachim Stuck, Derek Bell, Henri Pescarolo and Bob Wollek, to name a few in Europe. In the U.S., Klaus had the pleasure of working with Al Unser Sr. and Al Unser Jr., Mario Andretti and his sons, and Raul Boesel, among other top drivers. In 1991 when the Group C Racinag Series collapsed in Europe, the Dauer Racing Team decied to concentrate on other projects in the racing business.

From 1992 to 1994, Klaus worked directly with Porsche Factory Development. The Porsche 962 street car was engineered to meet the GT requirements and compete in the 24-Hour race at LeMans. Their tremendous team effort earned Porsche its 13th overall victory at LeMans.

This positive outcome resulted in the production of more 962 street cars, a thriving business which partnered Klaus with many outstanding customers. Due to the 962's price range, most of them were in the Top 100 worldwide. One notable commitment was to service part of the extraordinary car collection of the Sultan of Brunei. The Royal Family's Supersportscar collection included 155 Porsches.

Success came for Klaus again in 1998 with Franz Konrad and the American LeMans Series. With his Porsche 911 GT 2, Konrad won the 24-Hours of Daytona and the 12-Hours of Sebring consecutively.

When Klaus met Mike Amalfitano, he did not expect to work for him. But the two stayed in contact and found that their ideas were often quite similar. Eentually, Klaus joined the winning team at Amalfi Racing Legends, Inc.. Today, these experienced professionals offer first-class support to a select group of historic car racing enthusiasts.

Derek Bell : Photographed at Porsche Rennsport Reunion III, Daytona International Speedway, November 2007.

In racing circles, Derek Bell is a household name. He's been racing for over 30 years!

Derek is a 5-time LeMans 24-Hour Champion, 3-time winner of Daytona 24-Hours and the winner of 2 World Sportscar Championships. He has raced for the factory teams of Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren. He began racing in a Lotus, then moved to Formula 3. Having caught the eye of the Ferrari factory, he then moved to drive their Formula-2 entry and later Ferrari's Formula-1 car. However, he perhaps became best known for his endurance racing at the 24-Hours of LeMans and Daytona in Group-C and IMSA with Porsche 962s. Derek twice (1986 & 1987) recorded the very rare "double-double" winning both LeMans and Daytona in the same year. (excerpt from Amalfi Racing Legends, Inc. website www.amalfiracing.com)

Derek is a very down-to-earth individual with a great sense of humor. In November 2007, Derek drove for the elite Amalfi Racing Legends, Inc. team at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion III at the Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, FL. He made it look so easy as he was tearing up the track setting fast lap times. Derek uses my photographs from this event during his various speaking tours.
